Before we move on, let me straighten this up a little...

3D art is often misunderstood, since the final image is flat. It's called 3D because as you design your images, you get to play with an endless playground, a so called scene, much like a limitless virtual movie set.

You then add so called pre-made "3D models" or "content" to your empty scene, and quickly create a world on your own without having to create the content to start with.

This content can be characters, outfits, hair and "poses", which are body postures. You can move and adjust everything, and play with expressions in their faces. You can add monsters, vehicles, trees, buildings and even complete environments, cities, and landscapes in any style you want.

Once you have all the content loaded and your scene is created, you can then add lights and cameras. Via this process, you become the director of your own set.

Since you can create your scene and also move the camera freely in the "3D space", it's called 3D Art, even tough it turns out flat in the end, just like a photo.
